the candy twins
hailing from london via twickenham and molesy, THE CANDY TWINS's 'happy families' is classic, ballboy-ish indie. its dirty bass and naggy, relentless riff leads you to an almost smithsy little chorus.
'until the daydream dies' is better, a sad little tale of the end of a relationship. its opening soft, drifty jangle which opens you up to a chimey pounder. its main selling point is its sublime chorus, that makes you swallow your already broken heart. it really is a gem.
also worth a lesson 'edwyn collins is back' which is a heartfelt, fans eye view love letter to the former orange juicer. you will see yourself in this song.
