David Tattersall free download

Happy new year! And straight off the blocks are the ever reliable wiaiwya records, releasing a limited (to a 1000)download by Wave Pictures front man David Tattersall. 'Happy for a while' is a taster for his forthcoming solo LP (expected April) and judging by this it should be very comfy, acoustically melodic and rather nice. A bit like Noah and the Whales' mellower stuff but with more of a story. Im very much looking forward to hearing more.

Those lovely people at wiawya records have let you have a free sneaky peek at the A side of Shrags new single 'Rabbit kids', and little cracker it is to, less shouty than you would think but bursting with melody and proper singing and that. A huge slap of POP. The single will preceeding a new LP due out early next year.

Last Dinosaur

'the best things in life are free' sang janet jackson. and just for once she may not be talking out of her tit-popping-out arse. the latest free download single from the wiaiwya label is by last dinosaur. 'Home' is a dreamily sleepy acoustic/piano epic with whispery vocals. it would be a perfect soundtrack for just getting in from work when the autumn is really biting, and you've just changed into a snug pair of socks and wait patiently for the kettle boil. its cat stroking/staring out of a rainy window music. this is not a bad thing. just when it sucks you into a womb like calm, around 5 minutes in it all goes a bit ace. it spins out into a polite wig out, a bit like elbow do on 'new born'. its like doves conducting a soundtrack to a very, very nice kiss.


on the flip(not a physical flip as its an mp3, but you get the point)is a gentle, strained version of everyones favourite is he/isnt he peado hair arson merchant, michael jacksons 'beat it'. its very nice, which although it doesn't sound it, really is a compliment after having saint jackos greatest hits rammed down my throat by the FM brigade. anyway, have a listen yourself. its free you daft sod.
