The Pete Green Corporate Juggernaut

Guitar warrior, indie hero and all round proper gentleman, Pete Green, along with his Corporate Juggernaut are celebrating their appearance at this years indie-tracks festival by releasing a free track,'Hey Dr.Beeching' on download. the track IS free, however Pete does ask for a small donation to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, which is the only standard gauge steam railway in Lincolnshire open to the public. It has continued its restoration efforts, by rebuilding the station and is extending the line towards North Thoresby as well as restoring classic steam locomotives. A cause well worthy of a quid of any ones money.

the song itself is a politely angry attack at Dr.Beeching, who's report of 'reshaping' the nations railways was responsible for losing over 4,000 route miles. the track(arf!) starts off with samples that sound like a nightmare Thomas the tank engine might be having before melting into a skiffle-meets-Stones jangle intro. the narrator(Billy Braggs angelic cousin)then, in a happy wistful jangle, takes a trip back into time to get Dr.Beeching before he can unleash his rail-eating misery. i wonder if he has time to visit a certain Mrs.Thatcher too? A finer mix of tunes as trains as the indie-tracks festival itself.
